School geography textbook use limited distance reflective-critical understanding of the contents of the city and of the urban, unveiling a mechanical education, functional and exclusive lessons archetype of life of the inhabitants of the segre- gationist city, including students. In this perspective, this work reflects the contri- bution of environmental study from the locus of students experiences, contribu- ting the complexity that involves the subject in the process of teaching-learning in geography.
