A organização do território brasileiro tem sido definida, em grande parte, por políticas públicas e privadas voltadas à produção, movimento e exportação de commodities agrícolas produzidas em áreas de Cerrado. A competitividade do agronegócio brasileiro torna-se dependente de uma logística, na qual as ferrovias assumem um papel preponderante.
