Este artigo apresenta os resultados de uma pesquisa sobre as condições de vida dos agricultores familiares, realizada nos municípios de Tombos e Araponga, localizados na Zona da Mata de Minas Gerais, com base na aplicação do Índice de Condições de Vida (ICV). Tal indicador permite captar a percepção dos indivíduos acerca de suas reais condições de vida. Os resultados gerais indicam que os agricultores familiares consideram boas as suas condições de vida, porém, apontam uma demanda por políticas públicas específicas para a realidade local.
