Os conceitos de indigenização do capitalismo, de resistência e de economia moral camponesas são discutidos neste artigo no contexto mais amplo de abordagens sobre as redefinições da ruralidade e do rural, em razão do processo de globalização que impacta nas sociedades camponesas e nas culturas tradicionais. Processo de globalização este que caracteriza a atual dinâmica de transformação da espacialidade e da temporalidade rurais e, consequentemente, dos agrupamentos humanos que tradicionalmente viviam da terra e, então, se veem inseridos no jogo de forças global – local dos ciclos de expansão do capital internacional.
