Sumario:The concepts of indigenization of capitalism, resistance and peasantry moral economy are discussed in this article in the broader context of approaches to the redefinitions of rurality and rural in face of globalization process that impacts on rural societies and in traditional cultures. The globalization process that characterizes the current dynamics of transformation of spatiality and rural temporality and hence the human groups that have traditionally lived off the land and then find themselves inserted in the global power game–local of international capital expansion cycles. In this sense, we try to discuss how rural populations, or the peasantry, deal with their position seen as economically, politically and socially vulnerable to global forces, at the perspective of their local culture, in which they reinvent themselves and their traditions.
