Sumario:The article intends to revisit part of the history of the movement that embodied much of the struggle for land reform in the country before 1964, the Peasant Leagues. It is intended to explore, starting from the confrontation of different versions of militants and leaders of the movement, the reasons why the Leagues modify, from 1961, its form of action, contemplating even the armed struggle as an alternative of mobilization. The article is intended to suggest the reasons for this change and the implications for the next steps of the social movement.
