description The expansion of IIRSA has generated intense debate in the region considering the negative impacts on the communities, native peoples, biodiversity appropriation, commodification of water, land and mineral resources, etc. This article brings a contribution to the reflection of this problem from the Political Geography. We conducted an analytical course in order to discuss the connections between the IIRSA and the PAC. Thus, we confront the established guidelines for both programs and crossed the portfolios of projects to demonstrate the connection between them occurs from overlapping megaprojects IIRSA - PAC, complementarity of megaproyects PAC - IIRSA and expansive complementarity of megaproyects PAC - IIRSA. In the first section we presents a review of the majories paradigms in geopolitics contemporary geopolitics. Then, we review the main guidelines of territorial policies already put in place in Brazil, to situate the PAC as a recent territorial policy. In the third section we discuss the guidelines of the Initiative for the Integration of South American Regional Infraestructure. Finally, we discuss the connections between the IIRSA and the PAC.
