All in all, I present some evidences which corroborate the hypothesisthat the orientation of Brazilian State development imperatives are contradictory to that of the public policies aimed at the quilombola communities. Even though these conclusions do not constitute a infallible proof of the unsustainability of the development policy when contrasted broadly to the public policy aimed at the quilombola communities, the analysis offers subsidies to coax a deeper reflection about the thematic, both within and outside government. |

O objetivo central deste artigo é lançar luz sobre a inter-relação entre políticas destinadas às comunidades remanescentes de quilombos e imperativos de desenvolvimento do Estado brasileiro. Neste artigo, gostaria de me concentrar na natureza e abrangência dos conflitos resultantes do embate entre essas políticas públicas, tendo como referência as conclusões sobre o estudo de caso da transposição do rio São Francisco na comunidade quilombola de Santana, Município de Salgueiro, Pernambuco. Apresento algumas evidências que corroboram a hipótese de que a orientação dos imperativos de desenvolvimento no Brasil é contraditória com as políticas públicas para comunidades remanescentes de quilombos.
