The Land Reform context brings some considerations that must be in the analysis, once the land might still be in the process of definitive titling. In this way, the settled family does not have yet the property title, what probably might influence in its appropriation. Furthermore, the land extension can be considered small to the social reproduction of the young settlers' new domestic units. In this sense, there will be analyzed the material heritages (the access to land propriety) as well as the immaterial heritages (the qualities associated to work, access to education and to formal employment) of the young settler in a way to achieve an intergerational perspective in the succession analysis in the Novo Horizonte settlement. |

O objetivo deste artigo é verificar as expectativas e representações do jovem assentado, no que tange às lógicas de sucessão quanto à apropriação da terra a partir da política pública da reforma agrária. A sucessão é um dos momentos cruciais para a agricultura familiar, uma vez que para a consecução desta são negociadas as orientações coletivas e os interesses individuais dos jovens. O contexto da reforma agrária traz algumas considerações que não podem escapar da análise, já que a terra ainda pode estar passando pelo processo de titulação definitiva e, desta forma, a família assentada não tem o título de propriedade, o que provavelmente influencia na apropriação da mesma. Além disso, a extensão de terra pode ser considerada pequena para a reprodução social das novas unidades domésticas dos jovens assentados.
