El presente artículo busca recuperar las características cualitativas del sinthome reseñadas por Lacan. En este recorrido pretendemos describirlo, a la vez, por su singularidad y en el contexto de los demás elementos de su especie: los cuartos cordeles al nudo RSI. Dentro de esa categoría, las nominaciones -inhibición, síntoma y angustia- tendrán un lugar preponderante de referencia dado que han sido objeto de una importante revisión conceptual por parte de Lacan durante el período de surgimiento del sinthome. Este artigo busca resgatar as características qualitativas do sinthome delineadas por Lacan. Neste passeio, pretendemos descrevê-lo, tanto por sua singularidade quanto no contexto de outros elementos de sua tipo: a quarta corda do nó RSI.
