Sumario: | This study aims to show the usefulness of the World Health Organization Disability Assessment Schedule 2.0 (WHO-DAS II) (WHO, 2009) to analyze the epidemiological profile of people with disabilities. We administered a questionnaire that collected information related to the health and disability of 247 public services users in Montevideo (Uruguay). The objectives were to identify the profile of the disabled interviewees, to relate their use of public services with the socio-sanitary spaces in which they participate, to determine the support needed for carrying out daily activities, and to identify their needs for access to services and social inclusion. It is concluded that it is possible to use the WHO-DASII (WHO, 2009) to get a profile of the population and, more specifically, to explore the existence of barriers and facilitators for participation in the community and inclusion regarding leisure, health, labor, and education. |
