Sumario:This reviewed work is the product of the production of a group of researchers, whose long history is reflected in the study carried out on evaluative cultures in the framework of the implementation of the Incentive Program for Professor-Researchers (Programa de Incentivos a Docentes-Investigadores, for its acronym in Spanish, PROINCE) in Argentina. Immersed in the practice of evaluation itself, it provides copious details of the process and perception through the collected testimonies, as an observer and as participants, and even as members of the Evaluation Committees of the categorization process carried out between 2016-2018. This way, it brings the reader closer to the depth of the logic of operation of the Incentive Program and its complexities, to finally show the professor-researcher profiles that the program encourages and its multiple balances between teaching, research, and transfer.
