Sumario:The opening up of Cuba at the beginning of the 90s, following the collapse of the Soviet bloc and its socio-economic consequences on the island, has led to a process of re-ethnization which manifests itself in cultural and intellectual fields as well as in political activism. However, like any social movement, this one has been heterogeneous, presenting diverse results with respect to self-definitions and theoretical reflections. Besides, some expressions become contr oversial as they ignore the relational and historical character of every ethnization and assign reality to “races”
