Sumario:Ana M. Vara is a researcher in social studies of science and technology, professor of Science communication at UNSAM, founding member of the Argentine Network of Science Journalism (from spanish, Red Argentina de Periodismo Científico). In these remote interview she invites us to reflect on the tensions and interconnections between science, technology and power, the dual path between commercialization and democratization of scientific knowledge, and about the scope of the Social Sciences and the importance of responsible communication on controversial and urgent issues. She challenges us to reflect on the vicissitudes of the pandemic at global and local levels, towards a historical understanding of the complexities that science is going through in the world and in Latin America. Her analytical and critical view of platform capitalism and its consequences alerts us to the need to promote more spaces for specialized scientific journalism, towards a critical attitude as citizens.
