Sumario:The Military Forces of Colombia carry out operations in every corner of the country, as part of their constitutional mission to defend the sovereignty, independence and integrity of the national territory. To this end, they have a team of military specialists in different areas, one of which is pre-hospital care, whose objective is to provide initial medical attention to the wounded or injured in combat. This review article focuses on the documentary analysis of data focused on the current situation of the military pre-hospital care work in Colombia, especially in the National Navy. Among the main fndings, it shows the context of this work within the Armed Forces, then looks at the history of combat nursing care, then analyzes the importance of the Military Lifeguard and Combat Nurse from the internal perception of the actors and fnally emphasizes the need to provide quality pre-hospital care education, based on the real context and through a pedagogical model that facilitates meaningful learning of students in these courses.
