Sumario: | One of the worst consequences of armed conflict is the displacement of people from conflict areas in search of safety. These events generate serious effects on the mental health of the population and deteriorate the social fabric. The main objective of this article is to understand the mental health problems suffered by those displaced by the conflict in Colombia from the perspective of the integral restitution of victims. The main conclusion is that mental health care for displaced persons is an integral process that involves not only clinical factors, but also social, economic and cultural factors that, together, create the conditions for them to overcome the trauma suffered during the process of forced displacement.
