description The objective of this research is to analyze the impact of pedagogical models on the academic quality of students in the initial levels of public higher education in Cartagena de Indias. For this purpose, it was considered pertinent to characterize the public higher education institutions located in Cartagena de Indias: Institución Universitaria Mayor de Cartagena, Institución Universitaria Bellas Artes y Ciencias de Bolívar and Universidad de Cartagena, as well as to describe the pedagogical models in academic quality implemented within the institutions, and to inquire about the pedagogical strategies implemented in the institutions involved in this study and their impact on the student population in the initial levels of higher education. The methodology applied was through a qualitative and analytical approach based on a review based on the critical and systematic analysis of the bibliographic sources related to the topic, the review of institutional documents found in the platforms or official web pages of the institutions involved in this research, interviews with program directors and students.

Esta investigación tiene como objetivo analizar el impacto de los modelos pedagógicos en la calidad académica de los estudiantes en los niveles iniciales de la educación superior pública en Cartagena de Indias. Para esto se consideró pertinente hacer una caracterización de las instituciones de estudios superiores públicas con domicilio en Cartagena de Indias: Institución Universitaria Mayor de Cartagena, Institución Universitaria Bellas Artes y Ciencias de Bolívar y Universidad de Cartagena, como también describir los modelos pedagógicos en calidad académica implementados dentro de las instituciones, así mismo indagar sobre las estrategias pedagógicas que se ejecutan en las instituciones vinculadas en este estudio y el impacto hacia la población estudiantil en los niveles iniciales de la educación superior. La metodología aplicada fue por medio un enfoque cualitativo y analítico se plantea una revisión basada en el análisis crítico y sistemático de las fuentes bibliográficas relacionadas con el tema, la revisión de documentos institucionales encontradas en las plataformas o páginas web oficiales de las instituciones vinculadas en esta investigación, entrevistas a directores de programas y estudiantado.
