For the present documentary study, a qualitative methodology was considered, which is described as adaptable, which facilitates the detailed characterization of the phenomena, from their genesis to their deepest aspects; the adaptability of this methodology provides researchers with the ability to implement different tools to enrich the results of the studies. As a response to the stated objective, "the importance of the public accountant in the management of port projects in the city of Cartagena lies in the fact that he provides assistance and accompaniment regarding the generation, assurance and management of the accounting and financial information produced in the life cycle of the projects from their initiation to their closure, guaranteeing the ethical and responsible treatment of the financial reports of great value for the projects. In addition to the above, the accountant in projects is able to foresee the events and needs that may arise in the future, and also provide possible solutions to such needs. |

La investigación está enfocada en observar la importancia del contador público en la gestión de proyectos portuarios de los muelles locales en la ciudad de Cartagena de indias. Para el presente estudio documental se consideró una metodología cualitativa, la cual se describe como adaptable lo que facilita la caracterización en detalle de los fenómenos, desde sus génesis hasta sus aspectos más profundos; la adaptabilidad de esta metodología proporciona a los investigadores la capacidad de implementar distintas herramientas para enriquecer los resultados de los estudios. Como repuesta al objetivo planteado “importancia del contador público en la gestión de proyectos portuarios de la ciudad de Cartagena radica en que este brinda ayuda y acompañamiento en lo referente a la generación, aseguramiento y gestión de la información contable y financiera producida en el ciclo de vida de los proyectos desde su iniciación hasta su cierre, garantizando el tratamiento ético y responsable de los informes financieros de gran valor para los proyectos. Aunado a lo mencionado el contador en los proyectos es capaz de prever los acontecimientos y las necesidades que a futuro puedan surgir, y además brindar posibles soluciones de tales necesidades.
