Sumario:Taking into consideration the challenges faced by associations dedicated to agricultural activities and specifically to fish farming, the factors that influence decision making in fish farming associative units are considered, considering the organizational characteristics that play a fundamental role in this process, in particular, the socialization of the members of these units and the evaluation of the environment. Through a quantitative approach and surveys to collect data from these fish farming associative units in the department of Sucre, Colombia, evidence was obtained that the socialization of the members of the fish farming units, as well as the evaluation of the environment, play a critical role in obtaining organizational results, specifically in decision making. This provides a deeper understanding of how certain organizational characteristics, particularly socialization and environmental assessment, influence decision making in fish farming associative units, thus complementing the findings of previous literature.
